BIST-521-01 Special Topic: Survey Sampling
Fall only
This course is designed to enable students understand and use standard survey terminology and be able to recognize common features of sampling designs, be familiar with the properties of estimators typically used with common sampling designs, and be able to estimate quantities of interest from commonly used sampling designs. It covers the standard foundational concepts is survey sampling such as simple random sampling, ratio and regression estimation, stratified sampling, systematic sampling, cluster sampling, variance estimation in complex surveys, and non-response.
Course runs from 10/12 - 11/4/2009 (every Monday/Wednesday). Course meets in Building D Room 301.
Credits: 1
Prerequisites: A course in probability and statistics at the 300 undergraduate level.
