CHIN-351 Literature and Culture in Modern China

  • Fictional literature has long been at the heart of cultural thought and cultural change in China. In this course we look at the main cultural movements of twentieth century China through the medium of literature. Topics include language reforms, modernity, socialist realism, the role of intellectuals, and gender relations. Conducted in English. Prerequisite: None.
