A survey of how the Latin language was put to use at different periods
during the middle ages and what those uses reveal about different periods of
medieval culture. Some authors to be read include Bede, Gregory of Tours,
Einhard, Alcuin, Thomas Aquinas, Abelard and Petrarch.
