    • This course will focus on the following central questions in the field of economic development: 1. How is economic development measured and what are the development facts? 2. What causes economic growth? 3. What accounts for the historical record and for the vast differences in economic development across countries? 4. Policy. 5. Microfinance.
    This course also reviews the history of development policy in regards to the goals of promoting growth and reducing poverty. In addition to examinations, requirements might include a paper, book report, and/or class presentation.
