ECON-480 International Finance and Emerging Market Economies

  • This course analyzes the interaction between global capital and emerging market economies. It covers the basics of international financial management and considers topics such as the fundamentals of exchange rate and external accounts, international parity principles, exchange rate and banking crises in emerging markets, exchange rate risk management in emerging markets, country risk, international financing and investment in emerging markets and global debt financing. It analyzes financial crises in East Asia and Latin America, paying special attention to the 2008-09 crisis and policy responses to it.
