ECON-681 Political Economy
Spring for 2017-2018
This course studies the fundamentals of social choice and political aggregation. Topics include the Impossibility Theorems of Arrow and Gibbard-Satterthwaite, the Median Voter Theorem, models of strategic voting and endogenous participation, the Hotelling-Downs model of political competition and variants thereof, and informational aggregation results.
