FINC-579 Valuation
Spring for 2017-2018
The course is aimed at deepening the understanding of fundamental finance issues that are not discussed in detail in the required core finance course. Topics covered include the implications of the efficient market hypothesis and behavioral finance for valuation, the term structure of interest rates, advanced bond valuation, multivariate models to estimate the cost of capital, the free cash flow approach to equity valuation, and the consequences of parameter estimation error in valuation. The pedagogical approach will rely on both lectures and case discussion.
