GERM-452 Turn-of-the-Century Vienna
Faculty:
The course looks at literary and cultural innovations in turn-of-the-century Vienna (approx. 1890-1914), a time of increasing social and political tensions that preceded the disintegration of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire in 1918. The course focuses primarily on literature but new developments in psychoanalysis, philosophy, architecture, and the fine arts will also be considered.
