Fall for 2017-2018
Faculty:
The course is designed as an advanced, multi-disciplinary survey of themes related to states and societies in Latin America and the Caribbean. This section takes more of a political science emphasis, although it draws on the literatures of anthropology, economics, history, and sociology as well. Students write three “response papers” (8-10 pp.) to readings assigned for various topics, and a term paper of approximately 20 pp., which may be a critical review of literature or original research.
