RUSS-471 Women in Russian Literature: 1790s-1870s.

The course examines images of women in works of Russian literature from the 1790s through 1870s. Works of fiction and autobiography by male and female authors are discussed in conjunction with influential discursive statements on the role of women and the "woman question" by writers and literary critics. Conducted in Russian.
