RUSS-468 Russian Folklore
Professors Brougher and Stephens
This course explores Russian paganism, mythology, folk beliefs, superstitions, the spirit world, witchcraft, and sorcery. Students will read epic songs, fairy tales, and literary prose in English translation--works that reflect the various facets of Russian folklore. Conducted in English; no knowledge of Russian required. (Not offered 2004-05)
