ARTS-170 Art of the Book
Spring for 2013-2014
Faculty:
This is an introduction to the Art of Handmade books.
Students will create unique books utilizing printmaking, letterpress, fine papers and found objects. Craftsmanship, creativity, patience and neatness will be keys to a successful completion of this course. Students will be required to complete 5-7 projects depending on complexity. Everyone is required to participate in the first project, an book relevant to Georgetown University. A copy of this first project goes to the University Library. There will be demos by instructor, videos, and required visits galleries and museums and private collections to assist student project selections. Credits: 3
