ASST-779-01 Int'l Rel & Diplo of East Asia
Spring for 2017-2018
This is a graduate–level reading and writing seminar. Substantively, we will make you conversant with some of the core debates and policy issues in the field, including regional security and stability, trade architecture, U.S. alliances, national identity, unresolved historical disputes, China’s rise, Japan’s future, Korean unification, and crisis diplomacy. Students will do shorting writing assignments throughout the semester as building-blocks for one article-length paper of publishable quality.
