CATH-151 Exploring Catholic Spirituality
Spring for 2013-2014
Mastroianni, Ennio
For two millennia billions of people have experienced the desire to follow Jesus of Nazareth. Today is no exception. In the midst of a post-modern world that claims no absolutes, Catholics still continue to discover an inner voice, an outer voice, and no voice that beckons them into the future with the promise of abundant life. In this course students will have an opportunity to search systematically through perennial themes, challenges, and opportunities to encounter the living God and to shape contemporary culture. This primarily theological course will begin with Joseph Ratzinger’s book Jesus of Nazareth and expand to other readings from theology, philosophy, psychology, sociology, and literature.
Note: This course counts for one semester of the College Theology requirement. Credits: 3
