CCTP-745 Communication Technologies and Organizations
Spring for 2016-2017
Faculty:

How have the use of communication technologies changed the nature of organizational work and individual interactions? This course will explore the changing nature of presence with the use and diffusion of communication technologies and their impact on how organizations and individuals interact. We examine theory, practical applications, key scholars, and current empirical research. There is a heavy focus on using case studies that provide context for learning how organizations and individuals are using communication technologies to frame messages. In addition to the core workplace technology tools covered in the class, each student will choose a unique communication technology tool and a social media strategy to research for the course. Finally, as a class we will contribute to a larger study of multicommunication and its impact on organizations.
