GEST-610 Rhetoric and Speechwriting in US-European Relations

What are the essential elements of a compelling political speech? How do speechwriters combine research, rhetoric and storytelling to craft a memorable narrative? What is the role of the speech in the evolving transatlantic dialogue? This course will explore the techniques speechwriters use to answer these questions and provide a foundation for analyzing and deploying rhetoric in U.S.-European relations.
