HEST-503 Interdisciplinary Palliative Care at the End of Life

This interdisciplinary course in palliative care covers the foundations of compassionate care at the end of life from a patient and family perspective. The course provides an opportunity for learners from multiple disciplines to examine together the broad range of topics essential to comprehensive team care of the acutely or chronically ill with potentially life threatening illness. These topics include: the meaning of suffering, pain and symptom management, the dying process and other topics that emphasize the common elements of interdisciplinary team care.
