HIST-292 Women and the Maikng of Modern America
Fall only
This course offers a survey and discussion of the history of women in the United States from 1865 to the present. Major themes include the class, race, and regional diversity of women; history of social movements like suffrage and women’s liberation; history of everyday life; and sexuality and family. The course will be a mix of lecture and discussion, with an equal emphasis on understanding historical arguments and using primary sources. The class will require three papers and two exams.
