HIST-704 Environmental History

  • An introduction to the field of environmental history, focusing on the last three centuries. It addresses issues such as imperialism, industrialization, urbanization and how these processes affected relationships between society and environment. It has no specific geographic focus. The readings, taken together, consider most parts of the globe and will be adjusted to suit students' areas of interest.
