HIST-790 Interpreting US Political History 1865-2000
Professor Kazin
This course will evaluate the ways in which historians have understood contests in the United States, since the Civil War, to control political debate and to make government policy. Since politics is, at root, a struggle for power in the public sphere, reading and discussion will not be limited to parties, government, and legislation.
