ITALIAN THROUGH VISUAL ART is an intensive language and content-based course designed for a beginning level; it meets five days a week for sixty minutes.

The course aims at developing students’ language skills while learning about well-known works of art and artists from the Renaissance. The course provides an overview of the major artistic periods through readings, videos, power points, and individual reflections. Technology (Canvas, Voice Thread, Blogs, Discussion) will be integrated in the course. A field trip to the National Gallery as well as an art workshop will be included in the course. The goals of this course are twofold: to develop students’ communicative skills as well as their ability to understand and appreciate the rich and unique Italian artistic heritage. The course is taught in Italian. Students who successfully complete ITAL.008 can enroll in ITAL.032.
