KREN-112 Intensive Second Level Korean II

This course is a continuation of the KREN 111 class. This course is designed for students who have successfully completed one semester of Second Level Korean or its equivalent. The course fosters intermediate development of the four basic communication skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) through more complex Korean dialogues and texts. The goals of this course are: a) to achieve everyday basic communication abilities such as introducing oneself, shopping, etc.; b) to express one's daily schedule and personal life; c) to ask and answer simple questions about everyday life by familiarizing oneself with common expressions, pronunciation, and more expanded grammar and sentence structures; d) to understand Korean conversation regarding personal and familiar topics; e) to be familiar with the basic Korean language structure so as to read and understand simple written Korean texts, as well as express oneself in written Korean. The class is also intended to add cultural background to intermediate level language skills so that students can utilize their Korean skills in diverse environments. Prerequisite: Completion of 111 or an equivalent level of knowledge of Korean.
