MGMT-512 Legal Aspects of Business Decisions

This course uses the case study method to acquaint students with areas of the law and government regulation they can expect to encounter in their business careers. Students gain practice in formulating, planning, explaining, and defending the legal and ethical choices they must make in a daily business context. Emphasis is placed on the ethical foundations of law. Particular attention is paid to laws which have criminalized conduct that heretofore would have been described as "sharp practices" rather than crimes and to legal developments in the areas of immigration/naturalization, import/export, and international banking and commerce. Preference given to MBA 2nd years.
