MGMT-295 Management Seminar: Management of Human Resources

This is an advanced course in managing people and organizations for high performance. The course is divided into three main topics: external factors affecting work; organizational human resource management practices; and creation of high performance work environments. Specific topics include employment law; external and economic influences; recruitment; selection; training; promotion; reward systems; performance appraisal; employee involvement; job design; productivity; commitment; ethics; and business strategy integration. Special emphasis will be placed on the issues in international resource management including such topics as developing expatriate managers and the influence of culture on negotiating in the global context. Prerequisite: Management and Organizational Behavior.
