Spring for 2016-2017
McBride, Dennis & Moghissi, A. Alan, Ph.D.
This course is particularly useful for students who desire to learn the multidisciplinary nature of regulatory science. As regulatory science covers all scientific disciplines that are used in the regulatory and other policymaking processes, this course provides an overview of most frequently applied regulatory science disciplines. The course starts by providing an overview on regulatory science. Subsequently each lecture is devoted to a specific discipline. Examples of potential lectures include regulatory atmospheric sciences, regulatory microbiology, various areas of waste management, nuclear power, and other topics. Typically, uniquely qualified guest lecturers from government, academia and industry will be invited to cover a topic and to the extent possible provide key written information on the presented topic.
