NURS-012 Health Assessment II

This course is the second part of a two semester course, and focuses on functional and psychosocial assessment as an essential element of a comprehensive health assessment of the individual. Content also includes therapeutic communication and professional boundaries, steps of the nursing process and formulating nursing diagnoses, as well as unique aspects of assessment of special populations. The laboratory portion of the course incorporates knowledge and practice of fundamental nursing interventions and opportunities to practice comprehensive assessment and basic nursing interventions with individuals in an acute care health setting.
