NURS-253 Nursing Care of Vulnerable Populations
Fall for 2009-2010
This seminar challenges graduating seniors to examine and reflect on professional competencies they have developed to date. The aim of the course is to identify infrastructures that perpetuate health care inequities and to discuss
the nursing leadership interventions that might contribute to a resolution of these inequities. The course will develop the student’s ability to analyze contemporary health needs and problems, strategize to resolve recurrent problems, and discuss the difference professional nursing leadership makes. The Georgetown Nursing, Values Based Health Care Model will serve as a guide in developing nursing leadership interventions.

Prerequisites: All freshmen, sophmore, junior level coursework, NHS 241, 245
