This course applies the nursing knowledge and skills acquired in previous clinical courses culminating in the student’s independent practicum. The course emphasizes critical-thinking and decision-making skills at the level of the professional nurse, laying the foundation for specialist in clinical leadership. Students will engage in the discussion and application of the role of the professional nurse across a variety of clinical settings from the microsystem to macrosystem level. Students will use critical-thinking to delegate, supervise and prioritize complex clinical scenarios through case studies and simulation. Students will engage in the care of patients across a variety of clinical settings.
