NURS-903 Research Methodology
Spring for 2017-2018
This course provides the student with skills in the practical aspects of developing, writing and submitting a research proposal. The student will identify a study design, develop a sampling plan, develop instrumentation and methodology for data collection, and plan for data analysis. The student is introduced to quantitative and qualitative methods and analysis including common non-parametric and parametric statistical tests. An experience with data analysis using an established data set and SPSS is provided. The student will also develop and submit an IRB proposal.
Prerequisites: NURS 517, NURS 521, NURS 610, NURS 529, NURS 542

This course provides the student with intermediate skills in the practical aspects of developing, writing and submitting a research proposal. Student will identify a theoretical/conceptual framework, devise a sampling plan, describe methods and instrumentation for the project. The student will learn the IRB permission process.
