OPIM-668 E-Business and Social Networking
Fall for 2016-2017
This course is designed to introduce students to the key concepts of the rapidly changing fields of e-business and social networking. Consider how these fields have changed the way we live today. Many aspects of our lives are handled quite differently than they were just a decade ago. And e-business and social networking are rapidly changing many features of the way we do business today. It is important for managers to understand how to use e-business and social technology to improve how their companies set up supply chains, sell products and services, and present themselves to current and potential customers. We will explore this fascinating field through readings, class discussions, and hands-on instruction in some important tools for e-commerce development. The course will culminate with presentations of business plans, web sites, and social media plans for new e-commerce companies, developed in groups.
