PHAR-842 Regulatory Pharmacokinetics

The purpose of this course is to familiarize the student with the scientific approaches for the conduct and assessment of pharmacokinetic modeling within the framework of regulatory decision-making. Though background will be provided concerning multiple pharmacokinetic approaches to pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic integration, major emphasis will be hands-on training in physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling (PBPK) using the latest computer software. On completion of this course the student should be qualified to carry out PBPK modeling within the applications required by the FDA to support drug dose selection and the Environmental Protection Agency for risk assessment of toxic substances.
