PHYS-505 Quantum Mechanics
Professor Barbara
Beginning with the Dirac formalism, the basics of eigenvalue problems and variational principles will be developed, all in one-dimension. The semiclassical formalism of coherent states and the WKB approximation will also be discussed. These methods will be applied to the simplest lattice model for describing solid state materials properties, the Kronig-Penney model.
