PPOL-687 RELIGION & PEACEBUILDING

This course considers the significance of religions and their politicization in war, peace and social change. It explores concepts of peace, social justice, and order embodied in different religious and spiritual traditions, and the implications that these concepts may have for conflict buildup and/or conflict resolution between different traditions and cultures. It also examines recent and current initiatives to incorporate religious approaches to peacebuilding at local and national levels.
